Sharjah International Children’s Film Festival (SIFF) was started back in 2013 is one of the first children & youth film festival in the country and the region, and it is a project of FUNN, an organization established by Sharjah government (under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Al Qasimi, wife of His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah). The festival is dedicated to enhance the media literacy of children and youth, foster children’s & youth’s creativity and showcase the very best in filmmaking for, by and about children and young people.
Sharjah International Children’s Film Festival (SIFF) plays an essential role in bringing international films and new media content for children and youth in the region. It exposes them to world cultures and promote peace, tolerance and global understanding of how people from different cultures, religions and backgrounds live together in this world by engaging them.
The objective was to recreate the actual offline festival to go virtual and to show the creativity where people doesn’t feel any difference while looking at the virtual version.
The approach was to give a same and identical view of the offline event which the planners are planning every year in this virtual turn and we were glad to get the amazing feedback from the planners and the audiences that the virtual festival as not less than that the original offline one. We have showcased all the touchpoints of the event on digital platform like all the vital landmarks of Sharjah to share the heritage and culture from the beautiful sands of the country to some iconic structures such as Khorfakkan Amphitheatre and Waterfalls, Al Suhub Rest House, Kalba Mangroves, and the House if Wisdom along with other important places digitally.
Sharjah International Children’s Film Festival, the regions premier film festival planned to go virtual in 2021 and we at 360X were beyond ecstatic for a chance to create a stunning metaverse for the young ones. Set against the picturesque Khorfakkan mountains, the festival was truly vibrant with virtual replicas of Sharjah monuments created as zones for children to engage with. The festival showcased documentaries, feature films as well games and a photo booth. There was so much going at the festival, no wonder the little ones just couldn’t get enough of it..
